During a round-table discussion to which guests from other Hermsdorf companies were invited as well as employees of the institute, the financial politicians took a lot of time for questions. The participants were particularly interested in the challenges of the energy transformation and how the complex process can be positively influenced by financial regulatory impulses.

The subsequent tour of the institute then focused on the main research areas of Fraunhofer IKTS. The deputy director of the institute, Prof. Voigt, took the delegation on a tour of a pilot plant, where he explained the process steps involved in manufacturing ceramic batteries and how ceramic membranes are used to separate materials. Currently, a pilot center is being built at the site to work on these two research topics. It is funded in equal parts by the federal and state governments.
