Fraunhofer IKTS has numerous methods at its disposal that are especially designed for the analysis and optimization of water treatment processes and circulation technologies. These include not only general environmental but also numerous specialized analytical methods such as process tomography or radiochemistry, which support the solution of complex tasks in water and environmental services. Another focus is organic trace substances. This includes, among others, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and industrial chemicals that must be detected at very low concentrations (µg/L to ng/L). Extensive liquid chromatographic or gas chromatographic systems coupled with different mass spectrometric detectors are available for this purpose. These can also be used to validate novel sensors.
