Aftertreatment of engine exhaust gases

Engine exhaust gases are one of the main sources of air pollutants. Fraunhofer IKTS develops innovative solutions to effectively reduce emissions of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter.

Particle filtration

Fine dust particles from engine combustion pose a significant risk to humans and the environment. Particle filters can be used to reduce fine dust safely and effectively.

The ceramic particle filters developed at Fraunhofer IKTS combine high filtration efficiency with thermal resistance.
