AI tools in the evaluation of electrochemical measurement data from the Scanning Electrochemical Microscope (SECM).

The Digitally Supported Systems and Services department works to accelerate research, industrial technology transfer, and the commercialization of research results through the consistent use of digital methods – anchored in an interdisciplinary approach that combines IT and software, plant and test bench construction, automation, chemistry, materials science, media technologies, and education.

Together with the specialist departments at Fraunhofer IKTS and many partners, the four groups “Industrial Data Technologies”, “Chemometrics and Test Design”, “Machine and Production Design”, and “Software for Testing Systems” at the IKTS locations in Arnstadt and Dresden create scalable system solutions, digital services, and educational offerings for our customers in many areas and industries, with a strong focus on the energy and networked production sectors:

Industrial Data Technologies IT system architectures (microservices), data rooms (JSON-LD/NGSI-LD), data modeling/management, software development, e-learning/blended learning, component/process simulation, software integration (PLM, etc.)
Chemometrics and Test Design Method development for analysis and testing of energy storage/conversion devices, operation of analytical systems and test benches, computer tomography (industrial CT), electrochemical and analytical characterization, modeling (SoH/SoC, Comsol/Matlab), SECM
Machine and Production Design Design and construction of prototype machines/systems and test benches, manufacture of mechanical/electrical components, instrumented control/regulation concepts, assembly/commissioning (up to 40 ft containers), quality assurance
Software for Testing Systems Industrial-grade software for testing systems (PCUS® pro Lab ultrasound, EddyCus® Pro II eddy current), real-time visualization, AR-supported service/training, AI modules for fault detection
