Transparent ceramics is one of the strategic research areas at Fraunhofer IKTS. The production line acquired from Ceramtec ETEC GmbH has been installed and all machines are in operation at the IKTS site in Hermsdorf. The transparent ceramic with the tradename PERLUCOR® has unique optical and mechanical properties and is suitable for a wide range of applications. The accompanying Research and Development Center for Transparent Ceramics was officially opened in 2024. The team at Fraunhofer IKTS is already working on a variety of projects in both pilot production and R&D.

We kindly invite you to attend our industry workshop “Transparent Ceramics at Fraunhofer IKTS – Technology, Development and Potentials” and look behind the scenes of pilot production and development of transparent ceramics. During guided tours of our production plants and technical centers, you will receive exclusive insights into our ceramic technologies, innovative manufacturing methods, quality assurance strategies and potential areas of application. We will answer your individual questions and discuss application-specific requirements.

In short presentations, we will introduce you to technologies as well as current research and development topics in the field of transparent ceramics and beyond at Fraunhofer IKTS. We also offer individual appointments to discuss your specific technological requirements and development ideas. Let’s talk about joint projects and new, innovative fields of application!
