LTCC ceramic reactor in test

Reformers are used in various fields of industry and energy technology for reforming of hydrocarbons. Thereby necessary temperatures up to 1000 °C and the need for miniaturization require

Temperature-stable substrates, like multilayer ceramics. A special lamination technology, developed at Fraunhofer IKTS, allows for the implementation of channels, cavities or inlet and outlet openings without any warping. In addition, elements such as heaters, temperature sensors or current connections and pipelines can be integrated into the reformer. The resulting reformer systems are characterized by miniaturization, long-term stability and high performance.
