The Fraunhofer Center for Energy Innovation CEI at the University of Connecticut UConn was founded on July 25, 2013. The aim of the center is to further advance innovative technologies for energy storage, management and distribution, hydropower utilization and fuel cell development through contract research. Especially in the field of environmental technologies, Fraunhofer CEI and Fraunhofer IKTS have been cooperating closely for years.

On September 26 and 27, the Fraunhofer CEI invited to the "Industrial Workshop on Separations Technology". The event represents a network platform for industrial stakeholders in separation technologies. In addition to laboratory tours and discussions with Fraunhofer CEI scientists, the two-day meeting offered a high-profile lecture program. Keynote speakers included Fraunhofer IKTS Institute Director Prof. Alexander Michaelis and Deputy Institute Director Prof. Ingolf Voigt. Their presentations are available here.
