Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTSIndividual component labeling plays a central role in metal processing, especially in the automotive industry, for the digitization and optimization of production processes. In order to cope with the high temperatures occurring in metal processing, the Ceracode® solution was developed at Fraunhofer IKTS. This solution excels in terms of durability and temperature resistance of the marking, but also allows new business models for the labeling of individual components. In the Ceracode Digital project, the technical requirements, for example for new payment models (pay-per-use), are being developed and tested on the market. The aim is to establish new business processes for the benefit of suppliers, customers and the industry, which can be integrated into digital platforms for data exchange and are scalable as required.
