Fast and cost-effective CFRP testing with EddyCus® Polarlab
The new EddyCus® Polarlab test setup developed at Fraunhofer IKTS quantifies fiber angle orientations of up to 10 layers in multiaxial carbon fiber structures automatically and in real-time. In field tests it has already been shown that the used eddy-current technology has the potential to replace the costly computer tomography in this area.
Laser speckle photometry
Fraunhofer IKTS developed a method for in-line monitoring of industrial processes – the so-called laser speckle photometry (LSP). The robust and cost-effective system analyzes surface characteristics and draws conclusions about geometry, porosity, or surface defects of a variety of materials. The modular design of the test method can be adapted to a variety of problems. At the booth, IKTS scientists explain assembling and function of the laser speckle photometry using a demonstrator.
Automated ultrasonic testing with PCUS® pro Array II
The ultrasonic testing system PCUS® pro Array II (128:128) is a new design based on the PCUS® pro Array electronics for very fast, automated phased-array inspections. By completely parallel design and USB 3.0 interface high-clock speeds can be achieved. PCUS® pro Array II is designed for the requirements of automated testing in the fields of metalworking, railway, automotive, power plant or wind power.
