The Battery Innovation and Technology Center BITC also offers exclusive insights into research during guided tours.

For INDUSTRIEERLEBEN 2023, the Battery Innovation and Technology Center BITC at Erfurter Kreuz near Arnstadt in Thuringia will open its laboratories and pilot plants to interested members of the public and offer insights into a state-of-the-art research facility. During tours of the institute, researchers will explain how energy storage systems are tested in complex facilities and how the production of batteries is optimized at Fraunhofer. There are also exclusive insights into current research projects in the field of hydrogen technologies.

BITC offers production research for energy storage: from data management and computing concepts to instrumentation and evaluation of digitally supported production processes. The INDUSTRIEERLEBEN event is organized by the Erfurter Kreuz initiative, an association of currently more than 135 companies that have settled in and around the Erfurter Kreuz industrial area, which aims to promote the regional economy and publicize the job and training opportunities at the location.
